Breathe On Me is the culmination of three years spent in prayer and production on this exciting new worship album recorded with the intention of pulling down strongholds,Christian singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Leon Patillo got his start in the professional music business when he fronted a band called Creation in the San Francisco area in the late '60s and early '70s. The band, which eventually became known as Leon's Creation, was a multi-racial funk-pop outfit somewhat in the Sly & the Family Stone mold, and featured Patillo on keyboards, Jimmy Calhoun on bass, Barry Frost on percussion, Billy Gerst on trumpet, Lenny Goldsmith on additional keyboards, Gerry Peterson on reeds, Carol Stallings on Violin, and Orlando Stallings on guitar. Leon's Creation released a trio of independent LPs and was signed at one point to Atlantic Records. Patillo joined Santana in 1973, and his vocals and piano work were featured on 1974's Borboletta album and the live Festival, which was released in 1976. Patillo toured with the band until 1979, when he left Santana for a solo career, signing with Word Records. Meshing dance, R&B, soul, and gospel into an influential contemporary Christian music context, Patillo released several albums on Word, including Don't Give In (1981), I'll Never Stop Lovin' You (1982), Live Experience (1983)The Sky's the Limit (1984), and A Funny Thing Happened (1986). He also hosted a television show, Leon and Friends, which ran on TBN. Since 1999 he has been performing worldwide as part of the Get Motivated conferences, and has worked to develop his own ministry. He formed his own record label, Positive Pop, and released two new albums in 2005, Breathe on Me and Live Experience 2, which was recorded at Crossroads Community Church in Las Vegas, NV. Aside from his solo records and his work with Santana, Patillo has also worked with Funkadelic and Martha Reeves & the Vandellas. An ordained Christian minister, he continues to explore avenues that bring music and the Christian experience together.REVIEWS FOR THE AALBUMS:Leon Patillo delivers his signature energetic praise and worship on this live set. The audience is excited and singing along. Some of the songs where new to me but I quickly got it to them. My favorites of the new ones were "On The Way up" And "Calling Love" And "Pulling Down Strongholds". Any fan of Leon Patillo or good contemporary gospel will love this cd. I enjoyed the classics as well ("J.E.S.U.S.")And The Sky Is The limit". ("On The Way Up").Another self-penned, performed and produced album from the multi-talented Mr Patillo. Apart from a saxophone and some Backing Vocals, everything is played, sung or programmed by the man himself. That kind of brief immediately places restrictions on the album's scope; as one would expect, it is keyboard-based, with sequenced bass-lines and drum computers to the fore, the resulting mix providing the backdrop for the Patillo Vocal Chords. The album includes up-tempo dance-workout, like the title track and "Rock House", where the lyrics are kept simple and the beat allowed to dominate; ballads like "Bye Bye For Now", for friends left behind when circumstance dictates a separation; and in "Take Time And Rest" the singer hands out some sound advice to a workaholic friend who's neglecting his family to chase success. Patillo has a reputation for being able to write a love song from a Christian perspective - remember "Flesh Of My Flesh"? - and on this album we have "I Will Hold On For You". The song, written from the point of view of a Christian lover to his loved one, examines honestly the difficulties involved in waiting for God's timing in a relationship, rather than rushing ahead and missing God's best. Without wishing to criticise the man's chosen method of working, I did feel the album lacked a certain spark and spontaneity that could have come from interaction with other musicians. BIOGRAPHY:Scourged Flesh is a 4-piece Death/Thrash metal band from Perth, Western Australia. The band was formed in February 2006 by brothers David and Todd Kilgallon and Simon Bracegirdle. They recorded their debut album "Released From Damnation" in September 2006 and also did a few gigs. Simon also left the band in September 2006 but remains the best of mates with Dave and Todd. Scourged Flesh were also very honoured to have Kalle Ylonen from Finnish metal band In Process play bass for a show in December 2006 - it was a big highlight of the band's career. In 2007, Scourged Flesh brought in new bass player Scott Lockyer. The band booked more studio time in August 2007 and recorded their 2nd album, "Bury The Lies", which was released in September 2007. They did an Eastern States tour of Australia in September/October 2007, playing in NSW and Melbourne. In 2008, Scourged Flesh welcomes into the band Daniel Holmes, legendary guitarist of Templar, and Simon Hoggett. New material is currently being written for their 3rd album, due to be recorded in late 2008. The band has just been signed by the label Soundmass. Over the years we've played with countless bands, both local and over the world such as Malevolent Creation, Grave, Extol, Crimson Moonlight, Mortification, Living Sacrifice, Tourniquet, Bloodgood, Frank's Enemy, Feast Eternal, Oblation, Frost Like Ashes, Becoming the Archetype, Lament, Secretion, Bride, Drottnar, Shadows of Paragon, Frosthardr, Aletheian, and many many more. We were given the incredible experience of playing in both Norway and Mexico and it was some of the most blessed times of our lives. We've played in several different states and at several festivals. REVIEW FOR THE ALBUMS:(Unearthed)Crimson Thorn has released what may arguably be the hardest hitting cd ever released. There is nothing reserved in this blast fest of a cd. This musis technical and fast, but is also very very heavy. Luke Renno's Voice is the typical monotone Death Vocal people have come to expect in the genre. The Vocals have a range to them and really complement the music ,But in terms of Heaviness And Brutality this band conquers all. I have yet to hear anything heavier than this. I say if you can find it,these guys are christian.These guys are heavier than Suffocation !Crimson thorn are liturally up there with the best death metal today!Satan doesn`t Stand A Chance against God and this band will prove it!,.First track Unearthed just explodes with Good Riffs and Drums. The rest is just good Death Metal Music all the way through, my personal favorite is "Decrepit". Whats kind of on the downside is the sound quality. It sounds muffled, but it fits. At first it annoyed me but I started liking it! Yes, it has a christian message.Cuz I Am A Christian! IF you like it GREAT!Anyway The members of Crimson Thorn, surely one of the world's most extreme-sounding Christian metal bands, choose to preach their gospel via the unfeasibly coarse but highly technical death metal style normally championed by dark side-friendly acts like Suffocation and Immolation. REVIEWS FOR ALBUMS AND BAND:Australian rock doomsters Metanoia's 'Don't Walk The Dead' thuds out of the speakers with a wall of rock power that is likely to dislodge the ornaments from your neighbour's shelves (SO TURN IT DOWN!!!!!). Plenty of power from girl Bassist Tina and Drummer Ian who build a solid foundation on top of which Steve Bennet's Guitar alternates between furious slabs of Heavy Riffing and some Free Flowing Solos. The wonderfully Named Vocalist, Yowie, writes some of the lyrics but delivers them in a guttural growl that renders them indecipherable (am I getting too old here?) however the lyrics are helpfully added to the CD sleeve so there is no doubt that these are powerfully in your face songs! More direct than your average Nashville CCM song, Metanoia unleash a broadside that hits at spiritual issues facing the disadvantaged and the desperate. Musically the band introduce plenty of metal sounds into the overall feel of the album and there are definite moments when the band push the boat out and experiment with some fresh sounds. For example "Can You Feel It" is split into a number of different musical passages giving the track a huge but varied sound. There's a touch of violin and acoustic guitar on "Reflections" showing a completely different side to the band! The singing (growling) style changes in different songs, so you don't get the same growl all the way through, and they have some BRILLIANT! sounding intro's and very catchy tunes, like in "Raped Reality" and "Time to Die". A VERY ADDICTIVE ALBUM!,Metanoia is the heaviest group currently recording,Someone said they were talkin about how good suicide is, its not that. Its about killing your current self to be what God wants you to be. Any christian who's into heavy metal should get this Band, its so beautiful. A classic deathmetal album,This album's A Good Production really hides Metanoia's incredible talent. This band could really take off with a decent producer. Other than the Mffled Dms and Mddy Guitars, the album is really catchy. It's sort of a groove death metal. Very cool. The lyrics are very positive and very spiritual. Death and roll fans will love Time to Die,Aussie death metal like you've not heard since Scrolls/Post Momentary era Mortification. Forget everything you think you know about Metanoia if you've not heard this album you don't know how good they truly can be. This is their finest (and it appears last) hour as they belt out 14 tracks of brutality. Awesome, pure genious.
