Wigtop was an industrial/techno side project for Brent Stackhouse (of Deitiphobia) and his wife Heather. The music was similar to Deitiphobia, but had a more gothic feel to it. There was only one release by Wigtop. http://www.knottheads.com/bv.php.With a name like Wigtop, there should be no doubt that this band's sound will be unusual. Indeed, this band, which consists of husband and wife duo Brent and Heather Stackhouse, do create some unconventional sounding pieces on this release, sonically walking a fine line between synth-pop and electro-industrial. The title track, for example, denotes the song's length as well as the bible verse Revelation 19:21. The track is a dramatic narrative of the entire passage of Revelation Chapter 19 and features Heather's emotional Vocals over eerie, synth-driven background music. Although some people may think this would get annoying, its strangeness and originality hooks me every time. Another track, the "Revelation By The Way Megamix" is more of a sequel than a remix, with Brent reciting the following passage over a more danceable beat. Brent also contributes vocals on the creepy "March of Souls" and an unnamed hidden track at the end of the album. Musically, the rest of the album is more accessible industrial synth-pop that showcases Heather's powerful vocals quite nicely. Think of Aleixa with more aggressive synthesizers instead of guitars as an accurate sonic description. The best songs are the danceable synth-pop of "Morning Star", the mystical ballad "In The Desert", and the techno-driven "Higher". Lyrically, the album follows a loose storyline of a sinner coming to know the Lord. Key Biblical events such as Jesus' sparing of the prostitute from being stoned, Christ's temptation by Satan, and the events of Judgement Day are all covered in a creative way. While I admit that this album might be too weird for some, its originality and artistic quality make it worth mentioning. It is definitely one of the genre's more unusual releases(http://www.holymetalrob.com)
